Rainchaser uses a deceptively simple mosaic pattern where only one color is worked at any given point to create an illusion of stranded knitting. Three colors are used for a gentle ombre effect.
The pattern includes both the hat and the cowl.
NEEDLES - US#5/3.75mm - 16”/40cm circular needles and DPNs; US#3/3.25mm - 16”/40cm circular needles;
GAUGE - 24 stitches and 57 rows = 10 cm in Herringbone slip stitch with US#5 needle
YARN AMOUNT - 300 - 540 yards total for both hat and cowl
YARN RECOMMENDED - Cascade 220 Sport, Sample shown in three colors and you can make the set with just one skein of each color
NOTIONS - Tapestry needle, markers
FINISHED SIZE - Hat Circumference: 19” (21”, 23”) to fit child/teen (average adult, large adult) head
